Victoria, BC – Investigators are releasing additional photos of suspects involved in the destruction the Captain Cook Statue on July 1st, 2021.

Shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 1st, a group of people in the 700-block of Government Street pulled down the Captain Cook statue, removed its head, and threw the torso portion into the Inner Harbor. Safe, peaceful and lawful protests are permitted under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Property damage is not.

An appeal for photos, video and information about specific individuals believed to be involved was shared shortly after the incident. Additional photos of three suspects, including a newly-identified person, are below.

 

Investigators are asking for your assistance in identifying the three suspects above. This incident remains under investigation.
