Victoria, BC – VicPD officers are seeking additional information after a report of a suspicious incident at a Victoria elementary school this afternoon.

At approximately 12:45 p.m. VicPD officers responded to a report of a suspicious incident at Sir James Douglas Elementary School in the 400-block of Moss Street. During lunchtime break two students were outside on school grounds, near Fairfield Road and Moss Street, when they were approached by an unknown man who asked the students to accompany him to his vehicle so that they could complete their homework. The students declined and reported the incident to school staff, who promptly called police.

Officers attended the school and circulated the area, but the man was not located. He is described as an approximately 40-year-old Caucasian man with “scruffy” facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket over a red hooded sweater, blue and yellow plaid pants, and sandals with red and yellow mismatched socks. A potential vehicle description was not obtained.

This incident remains under investigation.
