Victoria, BC – VicPD Major Crime Unit (MCU) investigators are asking for witnesses and those with video to come forward after an altercation sent two people to hospital with stab wounds early Sunday morning.
Officers were in the area of the 700-block of Courtney Street just after 1 a.m. on Sunday morning when they were alerted by people in the area that an altercation had taken place nearby. Officers located two people suffering from potentially life-threatening stab wounds. Officers provided immediate first aid until BC Emergency Health Services paramedics arrived and took over medical care. Both people were transported to hospital. Their injuries are considered non-life-threatening following medical treatment.
The investigation is the early stages and remains active and ongoing. There have not been any arrests. To date, the investigation has not shown any indication that there is any risk to the general public.
MCU investigators believe that there may be video of the incident, as well as people who witnessed the incident but who have not yet spoken with investigators.
