Victoria, BC – There will be downtown road closures this Monday, February 6 for the annual Throne Speech at the BC Legislature. Traffic disruptions are expected with road closures occurring between approximately 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.
The 500-block of Belleville Street will be closed between approximately 12:30 and 2:00 p.m. and Menzies Street between Belleville Street and Superior Street will be closed between approximately 12:30 and 3:30 p.m.
As with previous events, we are deploying temporarily placed, monitored CCTV cameras in the area in accordance with provincial and federal privacy laws. These cameras are utilized to support our operations to ensure public safety and help maintain traffic flow. These cameras will be taken down shortly after the event concludes. Temporary signs are posted to ensure those in the area are aware of the use of CCTV during this time.
