Victoria, BC – There will be planned road closures and significant traffic disruptions in and around Victoria’s Inner Harbour, James Bay, Fairfield and along Dallas Road for this weekend’s Royal Victoria Marathon.
Motorists, cyclists and pedestrians will not be able to cross the race route between approximately 7:40 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Sunday October 8. Expect runners and walkers along the race route from approximately 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday.
Familiarize yourself with the race route and expect to encounter road closures if entering or leaving the downtown area on Sunday. Allow yourself extra time to your destination, especially if you are travelling to the airport, BC Ferries or the MV Blackball Coho or Clipper Ferries.
A map of the race route is below. For more event information visit Victoria Marathon (runvictoriamarathon.com).

There will also be road closures near the BC Legislature both Saturday and Sunday for race set up and activities.
VicPD officers, race organizers and traffic control personnel will be working together to minimize the impact of road closures and traffic disruptions and to keep participants and spectators safe.
As with previous events, we will be deploying temporary, monitored CCTV cameras in support of our operations to ensure public safety and to help minimize traffic disruptions during this event. The deployment of these cameras is in accordance with both provincial and federal privacy laws. Temporary signs are in the area to ensure the community is aware of CCTV use. The cameras will be taken down once the events have concluded. If you have concerns about our temporary CCTV camera deployment, please email [email protected]
