Victoria, BC – A man was arrested yesterday evening after he assaulted three people, sending one person to hospital.
Yesterday evening at approximately 9:15 p.m., Patrol officers responded to multiple 911 calls about a man trying to fight people in the 1000-block of Government Street. Witnesses reported seeing the man yelling and swearing and pushing people and tables as he made his way along the street.
Patrol officers responded quickly and with the assistance of witnesses were able to locate the man and take him into custody in Waddington Alley. Officers determined that the suspect had assaulted three people, including pushing a woman over a bench causing her to hit her head on the sidewalk. One person was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect is not known to any of the victims.
Two counts of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm have been laid against the suspect who remains in custody to appear in court.
