Victoria, B.C. – Traffic officers are seeking witnesses and dashcam or video footage related to a hit and run collision at the intersection of Bay Street and Oregon Avenue, where a driver struck a pedestrian at approximately 7:15 a.m. this morning.  

At 7:20 a.m. on January 16, VicPD officers received a report from BC Emergency Health Services regarding the collision. The pedestrian was struck by a driver at the intersection of Bay Street and Oregon Avenue, and the driver fled the scene. 

It is believed that the pedestrian was crossing Bay Street in the marked crosswalk when a “newer” white Mercedes two-door sedan, travelling east on Bay Street, struck them. The pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital for further treatment.

The investigating into the collision is ongoing. Officers are urging the driver of the white Mercedes to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or video footage of the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact the E-Comm Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 and reference file number 25-1904.
