Victoria, B.C. – VicPD is investigating two separate collisions involving electric kick scooter riders that occurred on July 16.
In both cases, the other vehicle involved did not remain at the scene. Investigators are seeking witnesses and any available dashcam or video footage.

On July 16, at approximately 12:25 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision at the intersection of Finlayson Street and Quadra Street involving a youth on an electric kick scooter and an suv. The youth was travelling eastbound in the bike lane on Finlayson Street, and the suv, also travelling eastbound, turned at the intersection when the collision occurred. The youth sustained minor injuries. The suv did not remain at the scene.

On July 16, at approximately 2:25 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of Gorge Road East and Dunedin Street involving a rider on an electric kick scooter and a white truck. The rider was travelling westbound in the bicycle lane on Gorge Road East while the truck was travelling eastbound on Gorge Road East and turning onto Dunedin Street when the collision occurred. The truck did not remain at the scene.
Both incidents remain under investigation and are unrelated.
