Victoria, B.C. – The Victoria HarbourCats and VicPD will team up on Wednesday, July 30, to honour Chief Del Manak’s 35 years of dedicated service to the communities of Victoria and Esquimalt and invite the public to join them at Royal Athletic Park for a special VicPD-focused game to give him a well-deserved farewell.

The game will take place on July 30 at 6:35 p.m. at Royal Athletic Park. Chief Manak will throw the first pitch for the HarbourCats one last time, and throughout the evening, you’ll have a chance to recognize his commitment to public safety and community policing. The event will feature demonstrations from various VicPD units, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their work. Come meet the dogs and their handlers from the Integrated Canine Service (ICS), see the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) in action, and learn about traffic safety from VicPD’s Traffic unit. VicPD Patrol officers and volunteers will also be there to answer your questions about keeping our community safe.

“This is a great opportunity for the community to come out and get to know their police department a little better, and to say goodbye to Chief Manak after almost ten years of leadership,” said Jim Swanson, Managing Partner of the HarbourCats. “We’re happy to host the event as a small way of saying thanks for everything he’s done.”

Come celebrate Chief Manak’s years of leadership and enjoy a fun-filled evening with the HarbourCats and VicPD.
