Victoria, B.C. – The Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) is investigating a suspicious death that took place yesterday.
On September 23, at approximately 1:30 p.m. VicPD responded to a call regarding an injured male at a residence on Armine Place in Victoria. Upon arrival, a 62-year-old male was located by Patrol officers and confirmed he was deceased at the scene.
Further investigation, and a preliminary examination of the scene, revealed circumstances and evidence deemed to be suspicious. As a result, the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit (VIIMCU) has engaged and presently maintain conduct of the investigation.
The investigation is currently in its early stages and there is no information to suggest a risk to the public. As investigators continue to determine the circumstances and nature of the man's death, they will be in the general area over the coming days.
