Victoria, B.C. – Victoria Police are asking for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious collision that occurred last night in Vic West. 

On December 21, just after 8:00 p.m., officers responded to a call for assistance from BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) following a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on a skateboard at Bay Street and Tyee Road. BCEHS paramedics transported the pedestrian to hospital with critical injuries. 

A significant emergency response attended the scene, including a crash reconstruction team, multiple paramedic units and fire crews. The area was closed to traffic for several hours while investigators examined the scene. Roads reopened on December 22 at approximately 3:00 a.m. 

Police are seeking additional witnesses to assist with the investigation and are continuing to gather additional evidence relating to this collision.
