Victoria, BC – Officers are searching for a suspect after a random man was pepper sprayed outside of the Bay Center this morning.

 

VicPD officers were called at 9:45 a.m. after the report of an assault with a weapon. Officers quickly attended the area and learned that a man chased a couple into the Bay Center. While chasing that couple, the suspect then pepper spray another random bystander. The pepper spray then began affecting people nearby.

 

The investigation is in the early stages and officers are continuing to gather information and search for the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as an Aboriginal man, in his 30’s,  wearing jeans, a plaid jacket and black baseball cap with an orange logo. He has a light beard. There is also a silver ring on his left pinky finger.
