Victoria, BC – Investigators are asking for your help in identifying a person of interest in an August 2nd arson in Reeson Park, on the Victoria waterfront.

Just after 7 a.m. on Tuesday August 2nd, VicPD officers and Victoria Fire Department firefighters were called to a grass fire in Reeson park, located in the 1200-block of Wharf Street. The fire was quickly extinguished without further incident and there were no injuries, despite the extremely dry conditions.

Witnesses told officers that a man had deliberately set the fire. Photographs of the man are below.

 

 

The person officers are looking to identify is described as a Caucasian male, standing five feet, nine inches tall, with a medium build, aged approximately 25-30 years.  At the time of the fire, he was wearing a yellow hoodie, black pants with a red and white stripe down the leg, and a black cap with yellow writing on the brim. He carried a large duffel bag or backpack over one shoulder.
