Victoria, BC – Cameron Ratelle, a high-risk sexual offender who was the subject of a VicPD public notification on October 17, 2020, was arrested after his parole was revoked after allegedly approaching a female youth in Langford.

Cameron Ratelle is a court-designated dangerous offender with a history of violent sexual offences against young women, believed to pose a high risk to re-offend against females, and targets women between the ages of 16-25.

On Thursday, January 21st, 2021, West Shore RCMP were called by the parents of a female youth. She reported that she was approached by a man while at a bus stop on Peatt Road. The man spoke to her and she recognized him as Cameron Ratelle from the VicPD notification. The female youth kept herself safe and immediately spoke with a trusted adult, in this case a parent, who called police. She was not physically injured in the incident.

West Shore RCMP officers attended but Ratelle had already left the area. They notified VicPD officers, who located Ratelle the following day and took him into custody for breaching his release conditions. His parole was revoked and he was returned to a correctional facility.
