Listen: VicPD K9 Represent Well at the Canadian Police Canine Association Trials

Victoria BC – The VicPD K9 section represented Victoria and Esquimalt well this past week with well-placed finishes in numerous events at the Canadian Police Canine Association Trials.

This annual event, held this year in Kelowna B.C., tests handlers and dogs in numerous real-life scenarios. This year VicPD K9 teams were well represented in the standings.

Cst. Ewer and Police Service Dog (PSD) Bondo placed second in Criminal Apprehension, with Cst. McLeod and PSD Uno and Cst. LeQuesne and PSD Diesel placing third and fifth respectively.

Cst. McLeod and PSD Uno placed first in Obedience and fifth in Evidence & Article search, while Cst. LeQuesne and PSD Diesel placed fifth in Tracking.

Cst. McLeod and PSD Uno finished second overall, right behind first place Saanich Police Cst. Zielinski and PSD Zeke.

Overall, island teams represented exceptionally well at this year’s competition.
