Listen: VicPD Detectives Continue to Investigate Suspicious Incidents, Release Composite Sketch

Victoria BC – VicPD detectives are continuing their investigation into two suspicious incidents that occurred last week when pre-teen girls were approached in a suspicious manner by an elderly man. Detectives are now releasing a composite sketch of the suspect.

The first incident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24th in the 1300-block of Miles Street in Esquimalt when a Caucasian man, described as being in his 60’s, approached a pre-teen girl and was asking her suspicious questions. The girl walked away and was not followed. The incident was reported to police later in the evening on Thursday.

The second incident occurred Thursday night in the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue in Victoria, at approximately 8 p.m. A man, fitting the same description as the previous incident, approached another pre-teen girl and asked for help. The girl did not respond and walked away. The incident was reported hours later.

In both circumstances, the suspect is described as a Caucasian man, approximately 60 to 70-years-old, clean shaven with short white hair and of average build. It is also possible he is associated to an older model, red, 4-door sedan.

In addition to the information provided last week, detectives are hoping the release of a recently-completed composite sketch will assist in the identification of this individual.
