Victoria, BC – VicPD Patrol Officers are requesting the assistance of the public in locating the owner of a box of photos and other items located at the Royal BC Museum.

On May 4th, security at the Royal BC Museum located a box of photos and Masonic items on their property. After several queries internally at the museum, the owner could not be located. The items were turned over to the police in the hopes of locating the persons these items belong to. Investigators have attempted to locate the owner, with no success. As there is believed to be sentimental value to these items, we are hoping somebody will recognize them.

The items include a teapot, a Masonic apron, and a series of photographs of diving and a sports team from Slocan, B.C. from early in the 20th century. Of particular note is a mark indicating at least one item belonged to Jack Ringheim of Chemainus, B.C. Inquiries there revealed that Mr. Ringheim passed away several years ago, and efforts to locate members of his family have been unsuccessful. A gallery of the items recovered is below:

If you have any information about who owns these items, please call our non-emergency line at (250) 995-7654.
