Man Apprehended After Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team Activated

Victoria, BC – One man is in hospital after being apprehended under the Mental Health Act early this morning.  

Last night, shortly before 8:30 p.m. officers were called to the 1400-block of Brooke Street to check on the welfare of man. Upon arrival, patrol members attempted to start a conversation with a man which was not successful. Out of an abundance of caution, the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) was activated.

After a lengthy standoff, the man was safety apprehended just before 3:30 a.m.
