One man remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a brief altercation on Saturday night.

Officers were called to the 900-block of Douglas Street just after 10 pm on Saturday, September 23rd. When they arrived, they found a man lying in the road, suffering what appeared to be life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital.

Witnesses reported that the man lying in the street had been in a physical altercation with another man. This other man then, reportedly, left the scene.

While officers were documenting evidence on scene, the man who had left the scene returned. He was taken into custody, interviewed and released pending the outcome of the investigation.

Since that time, the man’s condition has improved in that his injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.
