Victoria, BC – Detectives are in the initial stages of an investigation into a serious assault with a weapon that occurred this afternoon.
At 2:45 p.m. officers were called to the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue for the report of a man suffering serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Officers quickly arrived, located the victim and tended to his injuries. The victim was transported to hospital.
A short time later, the suspect turned himself into the Victoria Police station. That man remains in custody and investigators do not believe that there is a risk to the public. As the investigation is in the early stages, no other details will be released at this time.
