Victoria, BC – Picking a Halloween costume in the last two weeks before the big night can be tricky.

This year, we’re hoping to encourage all girls and boys in Victoria and Esquimalt who haven’t already picked out a costume to consider dressing up as something that strikes fear in the heart of evildoers and helps keep people safe – a high visibility VicPD police officer.

We’re holding a contest for this year’s best dressed #BeSeenHalloween costumed police officer. The top 3 winners will be visited by Chief Del Manak to be awarded their prize. Special consideration will be given to costumes that showcase high visibility.

In the spirit of trick or treating, we’re keeping the prizes themselves under wraps. But we can tell you anyone would be glad to have them dropped in a pillow case on Halloween night, and that a police car portrait with Chief Del Manak featuring the winner is part of the prize package.

There are three ways you can enter our #BeSeenHalloween contest:

1)Take a photo of your young VicPD costumed constable and email it to us here at [email protected]. Please use #BeSeenHalloween in your subject line.

2)Post a photo of your young VicPD costumed constable to Twitter with the hashtag #BeSeenHalloween and tag us at @vicpdcanada. You should follow us there too so we can DM you to get your contact information.

3)Post a photo of your young VicPD costumed constable to Facebook, tag it #BeSeenHalloween and tag us at @VictoriaPoliceDepartment or @VicPDEsquimaltDivision, or PM us the photo.

The contest closes at noon on October 30th, 2018 so we have time to pick our winners.

Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions.
