Victoria BC – Victoria Police Detectives are notifying the public of a sexual assault with a weapon that occurred early this morning and asking anyone with information to contact us.
Officers were called for an incident that occurred around 1:00 a.m. when the victim of a sexual assault alleged that an unknown man entered her apartment in the 800-block of Ellery Street. The man was armed with a weapon, and sexually assaulted the victim. The victim fled the suite and reported the incident to the RCMP who then advised VicPD. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Multiple officers are working on the investigation which is in the early stages. Officers are asking people to be vigilant while we continue our investigation and more information becomes available.
