Victoria BC – One man has been arrested after a several hour standoff on Richmond Avenue.
VicPD officers were called to the 1700-block of Richmond Avenue just after 6:00 a.m. this morning after a serious assault. The victim was able to flee the residence and the lone suspect refused to leave the apartment. Out of an abundance of caution, the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team and Crisis Negotiators attended the scene.
The victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Just after 11:00 a.m., the man was safely taken into custody. The investigation is in the early stages and further information will be released when appropriate.
