Victoria, BC – Investigators are seeking witnesses to a vehicle arson which occurred in Beacon Hill Park on the weekend.

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, Patrol officers, along with the Victoria Fire Department, were called to a vehicle fire near the petting zoo in Beacon Hill Park. A silver, 2018 GMC Sierra, had experienced significant fire damage to the interior cab of the vehicle. The circumstances of this vehicle fire were suspicious, and this incident is under investigation as an arson.

An unknown man was in the area at the time of the incident, and police are interested in speaking with this person. He is described as a 40 to 50-year-old Caucasian man, standing five feet, ten inches tall, with stubble on his face. The man wore a grey wool jacket, with long sleeves that covered his hands. The man carried garbage bags.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area of Beacon Hill Park at or before 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th, to come forward to speak with police.
