Victoria, BC – Patrol officers arrested a robbery suspect after a foot pursuit late yesterday morning.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14th, Patrol officers were called to the 1500-block of Cook Street for a report of a robbery at a business. Officers learned that a man brandished a knife in a store before stealing a number of items. The man acted violently in the store and made stabbing motions with the knife toward the store clerk. No one was injured in the incident.

Multiple Patrol officers attended to the area to search for the suspect. One patrol officer located the man a short distance away from the store. The man ran from the officer and a foot pursuit ensued. The officer caught up to the man and took him into custody without further incident in the 1300-block of Vancouver Street.

The man was transported to cells at the Victoria Police Department, where he was held for morning telebail. The man faces recommended charges of robbery with an offensive weapon and breach of probation.
