Victoria, BC – The Victoria Police Department is pleased to announce the introduction of our new, secure online system for police information checks.  The new online system uses advanced technology provided by Triton Canada.  Our goal is to enable the citizens of Victoria and Esquimalt to apply, pay and receive their police information check from the comfort of one’s own home, work computer or smartphone.

Online police information checks are only available to residents of the City of Victoria and the Township of Esquimalt.

For applicants whose check won’t require fingerprints, the process can be completed entirely online. Esquimalt and Victoria residents can make use of the system 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We only offer vulnerable sector police record checks.

Unfortunately, alongside all other departments in the region and the Commissionaires, we are still unable to offer fingerprinting services due to COVID-19 restrictions. These applications will be noted as being held for fingerprinting and we’ll inform you directly if your application requires this step. We’re hoping that we’ll be able to resume fingerprinting services in the near future.

To use our online Police Information Check service you must:

  • Have a valid email account
  • Be a resident of the Township of Esquimalt or the City of Victoria
  • Pass an Electronic Identity Verification (EIV) by answering a series of questions online to quickly confirm your identity
  • For volunteer related checks, have a digital copy of the volunteer letter from the agency or organization that is requesting the check ready to upload.
