Victoria, BC – Patrol officers arrested one man in connection to a stabbing late Saturday morning.

At approximately 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9th, Patrol officers were called to a hotel in the 2800-block of Douglas Street for a report of a fight between two people. Officers arrived on scene and learned that one man suffered a stab wound to the arm, and that a male suspect fled the area in a vehicle. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Patrol officers gathered a description of the suspect and his vehicle. Multiple officers searched the area, however the suspect was not located.

On Sunday, May 10th, an off-duty VicPD officer observed the suspect driving in the same vehicle from the incident, and alerted Patrol officers. At approximately 8 p.m. Patrol officers located and arrested the suspect near the intersection of Quadra Street and Topaz Avenue without incident.

Detectives from VicPD’s Major Crime Unit continue to investigate this file.
