Esquimalt, BC – Officers with our Esquimalt Division on Summer Action Plan patrol helped Esquimalt children beat the heat this weekend – thanks to a generous donation by Country Grocer.

Esquimalt Division officers, deployed primarily on bicycle through parks and greenspaces across Esquimalt and Vic West as part of the Esquimalt Division Summer Action Plan, were offered some popsicles by Brad at Country Grocer to hand out as part of their patrol this weekend. They spotted some children in need of a summer refreshment and stopped to share in some cool summer fun.

You’ll see Esquimalt Division officers out, connecting and engaging as they work to proactively reduce issues near the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, Esquimalt Plaza, area Parks, Beaches and the Vic West Skate Park. Over the past several issues, their approach has fostered closer relationships with the community through the highly visible and accessible deployment of officers on bicycles. The popsicles certainly helped this weekend.

The Esquimalt Summer Action Plan continues through to September 25th. You will see officers at parks, beaches, schools, and recreation centres in Esquimalt and Vic West over the coming months. Please feel free to say hello!
