Victoria, BC – A woman is safely in hospital after an intervention by VicPD officers this afternoon.

Patrol officers were called to the 1600-block of Gladstone Avenue just after noon today for a report that a woman was armed with a knife and in crisis. When they arrived, officers began to speak with the woman, using crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to work to end the incident safely. Officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team, including Crisis Negotiators responded to assist.
