Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are warning the public after discovering “trip wires” set across a staircase in Cecelia Ravine Park yesterday morning.
Shortly before 9 a.m. on August 20th, Patrol officers were assisting Victoria Bylaw officers in Cecelia Ravine Park when they noticed semi-transparent fishing lines set across a staircase. The lines were approximately one to two feet off the ground, ran across the staircase, and were secured to the staircase poles on either side. In addition, officers located fishing line set at the same height between two trees in an area which led to the entrance to the Galloping Goose Trail.
Photographs of the wires are included below. Of note, the staircase wires had been stepped on by officers prior to these photographs.
