Victoria, BC – In a brief event scheduled for Wednesday, September 2nd at 1:30 p.m. in the VicPD Hall of Honour, Rabbi Meir Kaplan of Chabad Vancouver Island will present Chief Constable Del Manak with a supply of reusable cloth masks in a gesture of support for the women and men of the Victoria Police Department.

“I felt it was important to express our thanks to the Victoria Police Department for its service to keep our community safe,” said Rabbi Kaplan. “The women and men of the VicPD often risk their lives so we may have peace and order in our city and feel safe in our homes and they deserve our appreciation.”

“This gesture of thanks and support is such a great reminder of the public’s support for VicPD officers and staff,” said Chief Manak.  “On behalf of the entire department, it is my honour to accept this very kind gift while passing on the appreciation of everyone here who works so hard for community safety in Victoria and Esquimalt.”
