Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are investigating after an attempted knife-point robbery in Victoria last night.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. last night Patrol officers and a VicPD K9 team were called to a report of a robbery in the 1000-block of Craigdarroch Road. Two women reported that they were walking on the sidewalk in that area when they were approached by an unknown man. The suspect held a knife towards the women and demanded that they place their purses into his open backpack. The women screamed loudly and the suspect fled from the area on foot, northbound on Craigdarroch Road. The suspect did not take any of the women’s belongings.

Officers attended the scene within minutes of the call and began to search for the suspect. A VicPD K9 team was deployed in an attempt to track the man but the suspect was not located.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old Caucasian man, standing five feet, nine inches tall, with a slim build. The suspect had dark hair and wore a blue medical mask, a black jacket with the hood up, and blue jeans. The suspect was carrying a small black backpack.
