Victoria, BC – Officers with VicPD’s Investigation and Support Unit (ISU) are asking for witnesses and information after a woman was followed from her workplace by an aggressive man on Friday night.

On the morning of Saturday, December 12th, ISU officers received a report of a suspicious incident which occurred the previous night. A woman reported that on Friday, December 11th, at approximately 10:30 p.m. she left her workplace in the 300-block of Cook Street and noticed a suspicious man in the area. The woman asked a colleague to walk her to a bus stop, and the suspicious man followed them. Eventually the woman believed that the suspicious man had left the area and began walking alone toward the bus stop. The man then re-appeared and continued to follow the woman, despite her crossing the street several times. The woman ran from the area and the man gave chase while he yelled angrily. The woman flagged down a nearby bus and was able to leave the area safely.

The unknown man is described as a 35 to 45-year-old Caucasian man standing approximately five feet, ten inches tall, with a medium build. He wore a black toque, black sweater, black pants and black boots. The man is described as being possibly intoxicated.

These files remain under investigation.
