Victoria, BC – A man who was sought Canada-wide after his parole for a manslaughter conviction was revoked is in custody after being spotted by a patrol officer yesterday.

VicPD’s High Risk Offender (HRO) officer with our Behavioural Assessment and Management Unit (BAMU) notified Patrol officers that a man, who was on parole for manslaughter, was wanted after his parole was revoked. Our HRO was notified by Nanaimo Parole that the wanted man was in Victoria. The HRO officer notified VicPD Patrol officers and began to work with our Community Engagement Division to issue a public notification.

Concurrently, at approximately 10:30 a.m. yesterday, a Patrol officer who was searching for the man, spotted him in the 1600-block of Quadra Street. The Patrol officer moved to arrest the man, who fled. He was taken into custody by Patrol officers after a brief foot chase and transported to VicPD cells. There were no injuries.
