Victoria, BC – A Victoria man is in custody after VicPD Patrol officers, Strike Force (SF) officers and the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) conducted a high-risk warrant arrest at a multi-unit residential temporary housing facility in the 1900-block of Douglas Street early this morning.
The man was wanted on several warrants, out of several Greater Victoria areas of responsibility. The warrants include breach of court-ordered conditions and charges related to drug trafficking, possession of stolen property, vehicle theft, and possession of firearms.
The wanted man surrendered to GVERT officers who were executing a warrant just after 2 a.m. this morning. During the arrest, GVERT officers deployed a device which resulted in a loud “bang” heard in the area. There were no injuries in the arrest.
This file remain under investigation.
