Victoria, BC – Dean Reber and Jonathon Muzychka, who were the subject of a Canada-wide warrant alert yesterday, were arrested by Patrol officers this morning after a tip from the public.

Dean Reber is a federal offender serving a 4-year, 11-month, 4-day sentence for multiple robbery convictions. He failed to return to a community residential facility yesterday morning and was sought on a Canada-wide warrant.

Jonathon Muzychka is a federal offender serving a 17-year, 11-month, 15-day sentence for a variety of offences including manslaughter, theft under $5000, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, escape lawful custody, break and enter and robbery. He failed to return to a community residential facility yesterday morning and was sought on a Canada-wide warrant.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. this morning Patrol officers received a tip from a member of the public who had seen VicPD’s alerts about Reber and Muzchka. The tip led officers to the area near the intersection of Pandora Avenue and Vancouver Street. The officers located and arrested Dean Reber and Jonathon Muzychka on the street without incident.

Officers would like to thank the tipster for helping officers locate and arrest these individuals. Officers would also like to thank our partners at the Victoria Parole office for their assistance.
