Victoria, BC – Patrol officers, working with detectives from VicPD’s Major Crime Unit, arrested a man yesterday in relation to a stabbing in Bastion Square on Friday night.

On Friday, February 5th, between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., a suspect stabbed the victim in Bastion Square. The victim suffered potentially life-threatening injuries from the assault and attended the hospital for medical treatment. The victim’s injuries are now considered non-life-threatening.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 7th, Patrol officers located and arrested the suspect in this investigation in the 700-block of Humboldt Street. The man was also arrested on three additional warrants for aggravated assault, failing to attend court, and failing to comply with release conditions.

Officers transported the suspect to cells at VicPD where he was held to await court. The suspect faces recommended charges of aggravated assault.
