Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are seeking a suspect and additional information after a woman chased a security guard while brandishing a knife in a mall parking lot this afternoon.

At 12:30 p.m. this afternoon, Patrol officers were called to a mall in the 1600-block of Hillside Avenue for a report of a woman brandishing a knife toward a security guard at that location. The woman fled the area accompanied by a man before officers arrived. 

Officers attended and learned that the woman had been in a loud argument with a man in the parking lot at that location. When security asked the man and woman to leave, the woman threatened the security guard, then brandished a knife and chased him. The security guard called 911 and the man and woman left the area northbound on Hillside Avenue, toward Shelbourne Street. The security guard was not physically injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a 20-year-old Caucasian woman standing five feet, five inches tall, with a slim build. The woman has long brown hair and was wearing black clothing.
