Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are investigating after a single-vehicle collision in Fernwood sent one person to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Patrol officers were called to the 1900-block of Fernwood Avenue just before 2 a.m. this morning for a report that a vehicle had struck a hydro pole. When officers arrived, they located the vehicle on its side and the pole supported only by its wires.
The driver of the vehicle, who was the sole occupant, was transported to hospital by BC Emergency Health Services paramedics with non-life-threatening injuries. The road was closed while Victoria Fire Department firefighters and BC Hydro worked to make the area safe. Photographs of the scene are below.
Officers are still investigating the cause of the collision and whether speed and/or mpairment were factors.
