Victoria, BC – VicPD’s lobby areas and front counter services are now open the public in both Esquimalt and Victoria.

Our lobby areas and front counter services at both our 850 Caledonia Avenue and 500 Park Place Esquimalt Division locations were first closed due to COVID-19 restrictions on March 17th, 2020. They were opened in a limited capacity on July 6th, 2020 but closed again on November 24th. With the move into Step 3 of B.C.’s Restart Plan, we are glad to re-open our lobby areas for front counter service starting today, July 5th, 2021.

Our new hours of operation are:

850 Caledonia Avenue Hours of Operation

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

500 Park Place Hours of Operation

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

During the COVID-19 pandemic closures, many services were moved online. These online service options will continue to be offered.

They include:

  • The VicPD Report Desk non-emergency line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. To report a non-emergency incident, please call 250-995-7654 and select option #1. Please consider calling during non-peak times, such as outside of regular business hours, to avoid long wait times.
  • To obtain updates on VicPD services and information, please call our non-emergency line Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 250-995-7654 and select option #8.
  • Vulnerable sector police information checks also remain available online. Visit for more information and to apply for a vulnerable sector police information check. You will be contacted in the event that fingerprints are required for your vulnerable sector police information check. These fingerprints will be conducted from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. by appointment only.

Court-mandated Fingerprinting

Court-mandated fingerprinting remains available on Wednesday mornings from 8:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. only.

Staying COVID-19 safe

In keeping with B.C. provincial guidelines, wearing a mask is encouraged, but not required, in our lobby. Please do not attend our lobby areas if you have COVID-19 symptoms, have been confirmed to have COVID-19, or have been directed to self-isolate.
