Victoria, BC – VicPD Community Services Division (CSD) officers, working with the Integrated Canine Service (ICS), arrested a man in Victoria this morning after a report that he threatened another man with a knife.

Shortly before 10 a.m. this morning, CSD officers were called to the 1000-block of Pandora Avenue for a report that a man brandished a knife toward another man in a threatening manner after a verbal dispute. The suspect then fled the scene, into a grocery store in the 1000-block of Pandora Avenue.

CSD officers, as well as an ICS K9 team, responded and quickly located the suspect as he was leaving the grocery store. Due to the fact that the man was believed to be armed with a weapon and had just committed a violent offence, officers arrested the suspect at gunpoint. Officers searched the man following the arrest and located three separate knives, as well as brass knuckles. The suspect was the subject of conditions of probation not possess knives or weapons of any kind.

No one was physically injured in this incident.

Officers transported the man to cells where he was held in custody to await court. The suspect, a 28-year-old Victoria man, faces recommended charges of breach of probation.

This file remains under investigation.
