Victoria, BC – A VicPD officer was sent to hospital this morning after he was struck by a vehicle in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue.

At approximately 8:30 a.m. this morning a VicPD officer was on special duty assignment in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue to assist City of Victoria Bylaw staff. The officer was standing next to a police vehicle when he was struck by a driver of another vehicle who approached from behind. No additional officers were injured in the incident.

Officers arrested the driver of the vehicle at the scene of the incident. The man was transported to VicPD cells, and the investigation is ongoing.

BC Emergency Health Services paramedics attended and transported the injured officer to the hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic in the 900-block of Pandora Avenue remains closed as this file remains under investigation.
