Victoria, BC – Members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT), along with Crisis Negotiators, are working to resolve an ongoing incident in Victoria this evening.
Shortly after noon today, Patrol officers attended to a suite in a multi-unit residential building in the 600-block of Douglas Street to take a man into custody who was wanted on several warrants under both the Criminal Code and the Mental Health Act. Officers spoke with the man, however he barricaded himself in the suite and refused to communicate further with police.
Members of GVERT, including Crisis Negotiators, attended the scene and have been working to resolve the incident for several hours. The incident is still ongoing.
