Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are alerting parents after a report of an attempted luring of an 11-year-old child from Topaz Park this afternoon.

Patrol officers learned that the child was playing on the Finlayson turf of Topaz Park just after 2 p.m. this afternoon when they were approached by a woman who offered the child money and then a Bible to get into her car. The child refused and told a trusted adult. The woman left the area prior to the child disclosing what had occurred.

The woman is described as a Caucasian woman, approximately 60 to 70-years old, with a slim build and shoulder-length grey hair. She wore glasses and a grey or black pull over sweater, grey or black pants and was carrying a red book. She was last seen in a silver sedan.

Officers are hoping to identify and speak with the woman to learn more about what occurred.
