Information Sought After Man Assaulted With Baseball Bat

Victoria, BC – Officers are asking those with information to come forward as we investigate a report that a man was assaulted with a baseball bat near Topaz Park.

Shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday, November 7^th, Patrol officers responded to a report that a man had been assaulted with a baseball bat in the area of Topaz Park in the 900-block of Topaz Avenue. A security guard in the area reported that he found a man who had been the victim of the assault near the washrooms at the south end of the park.

Officers attended and spoke with the man, who reported that he was assaulted at approximately 3 a.m. in the parking lot at the south end of the park, near Topaz Avenue and Blanshard Street.

BC Emergency Health Services paramedics attended and transported the man to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

This incident remains under investigation.
