Victoria, BC – An investigation is ongoing after anti-police graffiti was found on The Bastion BC Law Enforcement Memorial monument on the BC Legislature grounds.

On Saturday, November 27th, Legislative Assembly Protective Services (LAPS) officers discovered graffiti on The Bastion monument at the BC Legislature. The Bastion monument was defaced with the anti-police term “ACAB.”

The incident was reported to VicPD on Thursday, December 2nd and officers are now investigating. We are seeking information from the community to assist with the investigation.

The Bastion BC Law Enforcement Memorial is a provincial monument on the BC Legislature grounds. Unveiled in 2004, the Bastion is dedicated to those officers who have given their lives in service to the citizens of BC. There are 129 officer names inscribed on The Bastion monument, including six members of VicPD.

This incident remains under investigation.
