Victoria, BC – Christopher Gaudet, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for suspension of statutory release, has been arrested this evening.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m. this evening, VicPD officers located Christopher Gaudet in a suite in a multi-unit residential building in the 1900-block of Ashgrove Street. Gaudet fled the residence on foot and was located and arrested by members of the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) in the area of Shakespeare Street and Gladstone Avenue. GVERT utilized a loud distraction device during the arrest. There were no injuries during the arrest.
On Thursday, April 7th, Christopher Gaudet was the subject of a wanted person notification.
Christopher Gaudet is serving a federal sentence of more than three years for possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, kidnapping while using a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking. He remains in custody.
