Victoria, BC – Separate investigations into an assault with a weapon and firearms at the same multi-unit residential facility resulted in a significant police presence in the area of Gorge Road East yesterday.

File: 22-15199 – Shortly after 2:30 a.m. on Monday, April 25th, Patrol officers responded to a report that a victim of an assault with a weapon attended hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred at a multi-unit residential building in the 200-block of Gorge Road East. Officers identified another person involved in the incident and located him a short time later at the scene of the incident. He was also transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries sustained during the incident. Both of the individuals involved in this incident received medical care and were later arrested and released pending further investigation.

Officers remained on scene in the 200-block of Gorge Road East throughout the day for the purpose of executing a search warrant on the suite involved in the assault incident.

File: 22-15129 – Concurrently, VicPD officers and officers with the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT) conducted a firearms investigation at a separate suite in the same multi-unit residential building in the 200-block of Gorge Road East yesterday. Officers remained on scene for much of the day during the execution of a search warrant.
