Victoria, BC – VicPD officers are seeking information and dashcam footage after arresting three occupants of a vehicle who reportedly bear sprayed several pedestrians early Monday morning.

Shortly before 3 a.m. on Monday, May 23rd, Patrol officers responded to the area of Douglas and Yates streets for a report that the occupants of a black Mercedes vehicle had sprayed several pedestrians with bear spray. The occupants of the vehicle sprayed the pedestrians while they drove past in the vehicle and then fled the area. On scene, officers identified four separate victims of the random attack. Two of the victims required treatment from BC Emergency Health Services paramedics.

Additional responding officers located the suspect vehicle shortly after the incident near Government and Fisgard streets. The three occupants of the vehicle, all men, were arrested for assault with a weapon and transported to VicPD cells. They were later released with a court date and conditions. Officers seized a cannister of bear spray from the suspect vehicle.
