Victoria, BC – Patrol officers are asking witnesses to come forward after they arrested a man who exposed himself to a woman and then followed her downtown this afternoon.

Patrol officers were called to the intersection of Pandora Avenue and Chambers Street just before 3 p.m. today for a report of an indecent exposure. Officers learned that a man had approached a woman at that intersection. He spoke to the woman and then exposed himself.

The woman left the area and discovered that the man was following her. He followed her for approximately four blocks before she turned off and moved to a place of safety.

Officers arrived and located the suspect in a small community park nearby. They arrested him without incident.

No one was physically injured in this incident.

When officers identified the man, they discovered that he was violating conditions stemming from a conviction for a previous sexual offence. He was transported to VicPD cells.

Based on the suspect’s previous history, officers are concerned that there may be other victims who have not yet come forward. Additionally, officers are aware that there were several people in the area and there may be multiple witnesses who have yet to contact police. If you had a similar encounter today, or have information about this incident, please call the VicPD Report Desk at (250) 995-7654 extension 1.
